Including garage and basement belongings in the inventory

Garage and basement contents are easily overlooked during a room-based survey. Give these areas their own inventory sections.

Including garage and basement belongings in the inventory

Before you start

Check shelves and closed cupboards in order. Inspect unknown box contents and ask the moving team about items they cannot accept.

Practical steps

  • Separate tools, sports equipment and seasonal belongings into groups.
  • Keep dusty or dirty objects apart from household textiles.
  • Show basement stairs, doors and lighting conditions during the survey.

Checks on arrival

Recheck shelves and corners before loading. Use a clearly marked area for items staying behind so they are not loaded accidentally.

What to include in your quote request

For a storage enquiry, share the inventory, expected duration, access needs and later delivery address. Confirm which intake, storage, partial-release and delivery services are included in writing. Reconfirm the arrangements if the storage period changes.
