Preparing an unpacking area in the new room

Opening every box at once can quickly block a small room. Designate a clean, organised space for unpacking.

Preparing an unpacking area in the new room

Before you start

Decide the positions of large furniture first. Keep routes open and discuss floor protection and packaging collection with the team.

Practical steps

  • Arrange boxes according to their room codes.
  • Keep cutting tools away from fabrics and fragile surfaces.
  • Collect empty wrapping separately from components that have not yet been checked.

Checks on arrival

Do not discard packaging until small parts have been accounted for. Mark opened carton codes on the list to make any later search easier.

What to include in your quote request

For a storage enquiry, share the inventory, expected duration, access needs and later delivery address. Confirm which intake, storage, partial-release and delivery services are included in writing. Reconfirm the arrangements if the storage period changes.

Identifying boxes needed during storage

Do not assume every stored box will be accessible whenever you want it. Choose items you may need alongside the storage access arrangements.
