Measuring and planning packaging for a large mirror

A large mirror needs assessment of its frame and rear fittings as well as the glass. Share dimensions and mounting details alongside photographs.

Measuring and planning packaging for a large mirror

Before you start

Establish whether the mirror is framed or bonded to the wall. Leave removal of heavy or fixed mirrors to people with suitable support and experience.

Practical steps

  • Arrange separate protection for corners and the glass face.
  • Use appropriate separation to prevent rear fittings scratching the glass.
  • Compare doorways and stair turns with the packaged dimensions rather than the bare glass size.

Checks on arrival

Inspect the frame corners and glass on delivery. Confirm before collection whether mounting the mirror on the new wall is included in the moving service.

What to include in your quote request

Add the quantity, approximate dimensions and preparation status to your inventory. Include the floor, lift and vehicle access at both addresses. Photos help with the initial assessment. Confirm responsibility for packing, dismantling and reassembly in the written quote.
