Checking internal support when packing stemware

The thin stem and wide bowl of a glass need different support. A fragile label cannot replace a suitable arrangement inside the box.

Checking internal support when packing stemware

Before you start

Record glass types and quantities. If using divided cartons or inserts, check their fit against the glasses' actual dimensions.

Practical steps

  • Prevent glass surfaces from touching each other.
  • Fill empty spaces without creating pressure on the stems.
  • Mark the contents and orientation, and avoid combining stemware with heavy kitchen equipment.

Checks on arrival

Open the box on a clear, level surface. Set aside glasses with suspected cracks or loose stems and report their condition before use.

What to include in your quote request

Add the quantity, approximate dimensions and preparation status to your inventory. Include the floor, lift and vehicle access at both addresses. Photos help with the initial assessment. Confirm responsibility for packing, dismantling and reassembly in the written quote.
