Dismantling a bed and matching its fixings
Similar screws become easy to confuse once a bed is dismantled. Recording the connections helps make reassembly more orderly at your new home.

Before you start
Photograph the assembled bed and its corner joints first. Keep the assembly instructions and avoid mixing screws of different lengths in one bag.
Practical steps
- Bag each set of fixings separately and give the bag and corresponding component the same label.
- Protect long side rails separately from short supports; never tape screws directly to finished surfaces.
- Agree who will rebuild the bed and keep suitable tools in an accessible box.
Checks on arrival
Compare the delivered parts with your inventory before assembly. Report missing or damaged connections to the person rebuilding the bed before using it.
What to include in your quote request
Add the quantity, approximate dimensions and preparation status to your inventory. Include the floor, lift and vehicle access at both addresses. Photos help with the initial assessment. Confirm responsibility for packing, dismantling and reassembly in the written quote.
