Moving a chandelier with a dismantling plan

A chandelier's electrical connection, suspension and decorative parts involve separate tasks. Do not begin preparation until responsibility for removal is clear.

Moving a chandelier with a dismantling plan

Before you start

Arrange qualified help to disconnect the electrical supply safely. Photograph the installed fitting and its details, and retain manufacturer information.

Practical steps

  • Number removable glass pieces and ornaments by their positions.
  • Keep small hooks and fittings in closed, labelled bags.
  • Discuss the body's weight, dimensions and any need for a protective crate with the moving team.

Checks on arrival

Check the parts list first on arrival. Separately confirm who will mount the fitting on the new ceiling and make the electrical connection.

What to include in your quote request

Add the quantity, approximate dimensions and preparation status to your inventory. Include the floor, lift and vehicle access at both addresses. Photos help with the initial assessment. Confirm responsibility for packing, dismantling and reassembly in the written quote.
