International Moving Insurance Guide: Everything You Need to Know
Confirm insurance cover, limits and reporting steps in writing before transport. Check the policy alongside your inventory and quote.

Confirm insurance cover, limits and reporting steps in writing before transport. Check the policy alongside your inventory and quote.
Request the actual policy
“Insured” alone does not explain which losses are covered. Ask for the insurer, policy or certificate, covered stages, limits and deductible. Check packing, storage and transfers in writing. A general website description does not replace your policy.
Prepare values and special-item details
Flag high-value and fragile pieces. Ask the insurer or case handler how values should be declared and documented. Do not assume art, jewellery or collections fall under standard cover. Ask separately about boxes you pack yourself.
Document findings on delivery
Photograph visible damage or missing packages against the inventory and notify the team in writing. Record package number, description and discovery time. Keep packaging and obtain instructions before repair or disposal. Confirm reporting channels and deadlines in your contract before transport.
Written-quote preparation checklist
- Collection and delivery cities, postcodes, floors and lifts.
- Packed inventory with unknown measurements and sensitive items flagged.
- Earliest collection and your available receiving window.
- Included and excluded packing, assembly, storage and other requirements.
Collect your details in the planning tool. Your prepared brief appears when you open the quote form, where you can review or remove it. Keep your reference after submitting. Our team will clarify missing details and the written service scope with you.
