Packing extension leaves for a dining table
Extension leaves deserve the same attention as the main dining table. Pieces stored elsewhere in the home are easily forgotten during packing.

Before you start
Photograph the table both extended and closed. Record the quantity, dimensions and storage location of extra leaves. Prepare the mechanism according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Practical steps
- Wrap each leaf separately with protection for its faces and edges.
- Give locating pins and detached legs the same identification code as the table.
- Discuss whether any other packages may be placed above the leaves during transport.
Checks on arrival
Match the leaves to the table on arrival. Once assembled, check the extension movement, stability and joins without forcing the mechanism.
What to include in your quote request
Add the quantity, approximate dimensions and preparation status to your inventory. Include the floor, lift and vehicle access at both addresses. Photos help with the initial assessment. Confirm responsibility for packing, dismantling and reassembly in the written quote.
