Preparing glass cabinet shelves separately

Loose glass shelves can move inside a display cabinet during transport. Identify removable components before wrapping the cabinet itself.

Preparing glass cabinet shelves separately

Before you start

Photograph the dimensions and positions of the shelves. Distinguish fixed glass from removable panels and do not force parts that are not intended to come apart.

Practical steps

  • Protect each removed shelf individually and label it with the cabinet and shelf number.
  • Keep shelf supports in a sealed small bag instead of leaving them loose inside.
  • Show the surveyor the glass doors, mirrors and cabinet body separately.

Checks on arrival

Count shelves and supports on delivery. Check that the supports are correctly seated before replacing the glass, and do not use cracked pieces.

What to include in your quote request

Add the quantity, approximate dimensions and preparation status to your inventory. Include the floor, lift and vehicle access at both addresses. Photos help with the initial assessment. Confirm responsibility for packing, dismantling and reassembly in the written quote.
