Protecting rattan and woven furniture surfaces

Woven furniture needs different preparation from a flat wooden panel. Point out projecting areas and joints when planning the packaging.

Protecting rattan and woven furniture surfaces

Before you start

Photograph loose weaving, existing cracks and repairs. Remove cushions and follow the product's care instructions for cleaning and drying.

Practical steps

  • Protect arms and legs against rubbing against one another.
  • Pack separately any accessories that might catch in the weave.
  • Discuss pressure from wrapping and the placement of other loads with the moving team.

Checks on arrival

Compare the woven surface and joints with your photographs when unpacking. If packaging is damp, arrange inspection in suitable surroundings instead of leaving the furniture wrapped for an extended period.

What to include in your quote request

Add the quantity, approximate dimensions and preparation status to your inventory. Include the floor, lift and vehicle access at both addresses. Photos help with the initial assessment. Confirm responsibility for packing, dismantling and reassembly in the written quote.
