Adding late items to the quoted inventory

Belongings added after the survey can change the plan. Do not assume the final inventory still matches the original quote.

Adding late items to the quoted inventory

Before you start

Keep the date of the first list. Record additions and removals individually instead of updating only the total box count.

Practical steps

  • Add photographs and dimensions for new pieces.
  • Report any packing or dismantling needs too.
  • Confirm in writing how changes affect volume and service scope before collection.

Checks on arrival

Check that the loading team uses the latest list. Confirm that additions have been seen rather than assuming they are automatically included.

What to include in your quote request

Share your current inventory with collection and delivery details. Include large items, packing responsibilities and the intended date alongside carton numbers. Record subsequent changes in the same place and confirm that the final list matches the written quote.

Recording box weight alongside volume

Two boxes of the same size may have very different weights. Add weight and content type to volume records for more useful transport planning.
