Counting cartons and furniture components separately on delivery
The correct carton count does not automatically confirm that all furniture has arrived. Count boxes, wrapped furniture and fixing groups separately.
Before you start
Use codes for each package type. Identify matching components with sub-numbers rather than listing only totals by room.
Practical steps
- Tick off each delivered code on the inventory.
- Keep labels identifiable even after packaging is opened.
- Give the person checking delivery access to the current list beforehand.
Checks on arrival
Record missing or different items with the delivery coordinator. Retain empty packaging and labels until the checks are complete.
What to include in your quote request
Share your current inventory with collection and delivery details. Include large items, packing responsibilities and the intended date alongside carton numbers. Record subsequent changes in the same place and confirm that the final list matches the written quote.
